They found the dog!
Thank you for your good thoughts, my friend’s dog was found safe & sound.  I have been siiiiiiiiick for the past few days, I’m sure connected to being up all night and wandering around Red Hook with wet socks shouting “Molly!” but it was all worth it ‘cuz that puggle is home.  Excuse me while I pass out again.

Not Great.
I went for a slow jog today in Prospect Park around 2pm.  It was a beautiful day, and I found myself nodding to the other joggers and walkers, feeling part of this community that takes advantage of this beautiful park even as the weather is on the cold side. Not a ton of people out, but there was a group of teenagers I passed on the path having a lackadaisical snowball fight.  They were careful...

It’s one thing when your best friend, the one you live with for years after college, the one who you introduce to everyone by saying “this is my best friend _______” or when you tell stories about her you say “my best friend _______” as if her first name is four words long, who you think of as your sister but better because you chose each other…  it’s one...

– Jack Handey (via nudawn) It’s still hard for me to believe that Jack Handey is a real person.  That’s the name of the SNL writer who wrote “Deep Thoughts with Jack Handey.”  Such a happy confluence of events, to have that name and those one-liners.   Here’s one of my...

An Update
I just got back from ten days in L.A.  I was there for interviews and meetings, and an audition managed to sneak on to my itinerary as well, but most of my time was spent in my rental car driving from the east side to the west, back east, back west, back east. I drove the following highways: the 2, 5, 10, 101, 105, 110, 134, and the 405.   Things that kept me sane: a working GPS, great podcasts...

Today's News
Good News:  I was asked to audition for a new, really funny show on HBO.  My manager didn’t submit me, they requested me specifically. Bad News:  The part requires nudity. Not News:  Not gonna do it.

I may be in a terrible mood.
Just saw a commercial for “In Plain Sight” on USA.  This was the annoying/lazy joke they highlighted that demonstrates why I’ll never watch this fucking show. Guy star: I feel like I’m in a movie. Lady star: Let me guess, “Clueless”? Guy star: I was going to say “The Taming of the Shrew.”  Technically, sure “The Taming of the Shrew”...

Having a CRAZY day at work.
But crazy in a really, really good way. Getting to watch and meet so many people I admire. My palms are sweating. Remembering to breathe. I am a very lucky girl.

Will Ferrell Opens On Broadway →
I’m going to see this on Sunday and I can’t wait.   cvxn:tesslynch:everybodycares: “You’re Welcome America” is not exactly a one-man show. There are several other performers including a breakdancing Secret Service agent, played by Ferrell’s brother, Patrick, who, weirdly enough, is a John Belushi lookalike. Then there’s a sexy Condoleezza Rice, portrayed by Pia Glenn who delivers...

Sad sad sad
In the past two months, three people I loved very much have died.   My friend and former coworker, L. My teacher and father figure, Mr. G. And most recently, my therapist.  The one man who truly knows me. (knew. fuck.)  He was diagnosed with a rare liver condition and less than a month later, he’s gone. Terrible, terrible. I think I might be done with 2008.
