Ask A Striking Writer!
Dear Striking Writer, I have a brand new pair of boots and I’m going to walk the picket line for a couple of hours.  Should I wear these boots, never having worn them, not even once? What an excellent question!   During those picket hours, will you also be carrying a backpack for no good reason other your constant fear of being caught bored and having nothing to read?  In addition, will you...

People with joint email accounts (ie, “John and Becky Smith”) always have the most ridiculous questions. — dalasverdugo I just can’t take seriously emails from people who identify themselves by their children (“willsmom@whatever.com”).  Yuck.  Save it for mommy & me yoga!

Heath Ledger found dead. WTF. →
This is horrible.   When I first moved to Brooklyn, I met Heath and his little girl outside the Victory Cafe.  He  was super friendly and tried to get his daughter to pet my dog, but she was too shy.  When I’d see him and his (then) wife walking around the ‘hood I’d feel warm & fuzzy, not at all like the celeb sightings when I lived in  LA.   Oh, this makes me so sad.

“The ultimate effect of Disinformation is a kind of confused euphoria, which most people pay a lot more than $15 to experience.” — jakoblodwick I’m going to this show tomorrow night - can’t wait.  It seems like exactly the kind of theater that the New York of my dreams is made of: reasonably priced, completely unique, and oozing talent.  And unlike Los Angeles, I doubt the...

1 down 2 to go.  Will this bring the writers back to the table? — hipsterdiet Writers didn’t leave the table, the AMPTP did.  Just saying.  In case anyone is interested, there’s a great interview with the creator of “The Shield”, Shawn Ryan. He’s also a member of the WGA negotiating committee. Check it out.
